“The stuff that dreams are made of”

Part of a series of reimagined film noir posters focusing on an object central to the story rather than on any human characters. For The Maltese Falcon the object was, of course, the title statue of the black bird. The illustration was created using geometric shapes. Classic film noir movies were shot in black and white, however I used a dark, moody color palette to give a modern edge, and to further emphisize the suspense of the film. I had a bit of fun with the icons used to seperate the sub-genres: in this case a spade because Humphrey Bogart’s character was Sam Spade.
